In her next project, Ivana MacKinnon will produce "Cheerleaders 3D," directed by Tom Harper.

LONDON -- Ivana MacKinnon has jumped off Oscar-winning producer Christian Colson’s Cloud Eight Films in search of full independence and will begin her lone indie producer role with Cheerleaders 3D, directed by Tom Harper.

MacKinnon, an associate producer on Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire, was the producer on Harper’s debut The Scouting Book For Boys and has worked as head of creative affairs at Cloud Eight Films for the last two years since Colson set it up in March 2009.

Cheerleaders 3D is written by Ben Schiffer (TV's Skins) and was the second most sought after un-produced script on last year’s Britlist.

MacKinnon previously worked for Colson at Celador Films for seven years, helping to develop and serve as associate producer. Her resume boasts films including The Descent and Millionaire and she will remain attached to a number of Cloud Eight projects as associate producer.

She said her exit is part of “the transition to the next stage of my career."

Colson described her as “a gifted, creative producer with a great eye.”

Colson said he is looking forward to continued collaboration “on those Cloud Eight projects to which she remains attached while wishing her success in her new independent ventures."
