SmallWorld appointment to big job


NEW YORK -- A SmallWorld, which bills itself as "world's most exclusive online social network," has named Joe Robinson its president and CEO, the company said Friday. Robinson was an investor and senior executive at Scout Inc., which was acquired by News Corp., and he previously founded gaming company PlayLink and gaming Web site ASW, which currently has 265,000 members, is invitation-only, has selective advertising from luxury brands and aims to connect "influentials" from around the world. The Weinstein Co. and Bob Pittman are investors.
