This is the first year that the Interactive Advertising Bureau has held a Los Angeles-based version of its annual advertiser pitch fest.

NewFronts West is coming into focus.

The Interactive Advertising Bureau has unveiled the initial lineup for its inaugural Los Angeles-based event, and companies including Snap, Vice Media and the Los Angeles Times are all set to participate.

NewFronts West will take place Oct. 9-10 at NeueHouse Hollywood. Unlike the New York version of NewFronts, which offers companies two-hour slots across a full week, NewFronts West will feature shorter presentation blocks during a condensed two days.

Other presenters include NewFronts founder Digitas, Ellen Digital Network, Gallery Media Group, Jukin Media, LiveXLive Media, Meredith Corp., the New York Times, SoulPancake, Unity Technologies, Viacom Digital Studios and YouTube-owned FameBit.

Some presenters, including Vice, Viacom Digital Studios, NYT, Meredith and Digitas, also presented at NewFronts in New York, which took place April 30-May 4.

"Hollywood has a successful history in captivating audiences all over the world, and the NewFronts West lineup of big name media companies, digital native pioneers, and technology partners is sure to continue that long tradition," said Anna Bager, executive vp industry initiatives at IAB. "Brands can expect to see the type of inventive digital programming that can help them forge meaningful, direct connections with consumers. In addition, this new Los Angeles event marks a return to the roots of NewFronts, with a focus on elevating and supporting up-and-coming independent content creators across the digital video, digital audio, and VR landscapes. Furthermore, the event will celebrate the West Coast creator community and its central role in helping shape the digital video ecosystem since its inception."

Sponsors including BBC News, Spectrum Reach, true[x] and Zefr will present research during the event.

The introduction of NewFronts West comes as the IAB has scaled back the main NewFronts event in New York, which has taken place since 2012. At one time, NewFronts ballooned to two weeks and more than 30 presenters. This year, it was shortened to one week.
