'SNL's' Chloe Fineman Reveals Timothee Chalamet’s Reaction to Impression: "We Should Figure Something Out"

The 'Saturday Night Live' castmember shared stories from her audition and recalled appearing on 'The Late Show With David Letterman' when she was in high school to show off her championship bird calling.

Prior to auditioning for NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Chloe Fineman claims that she religiously watched Jimmy Fallon’s audition tape for inspiration.

On Tuesday, the actress-comedian appeared with her audition inspiration on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, in the first late night appearance of her career — technically.

While still in high school, a teenage Fineman appeared on The Late Show With David Letterman — not to perform her impressions, but to show off her bird calls. After winning a bird-calling contest at her local high school, Fineman was flown out to New York City to perform her calls on the show.

Today, the comedian is better known for her spot-on impressions of several A-list stars including Drew Barrymore, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Meryl Streep and Timothée Chalamet.

Fineman recalled that the latter Oscar-nominated actor stopped by SNL's set last weekend, likely in preparation for his own hosting gig this Saturday.

“He was like, ‘We should figure something out,’” Fineman said, falling into her Chalamet impression. “And I was like, ‘Ah! It’s Timothée Chalamet!’ … and I just turned bright red.”

The comedian claimed that Chalamet even joked that he was “working on an impression of her,” as she imitated the actor’s recognizable, boyish laughter.

“And I fainted,” Fineman joked. “I fully fainted.”

Fallon and his guest later discussed Fineman’s own audition for SNL, at which former SNL star Bill Hader gave her a pep talk.

“I had a character who was from Burning Man, and so I was covered in duct tape and stickers, and someone knocked on the door and I opened it, and he was like, ‘Hi, I’m Bill,’” the actress remembered in an off-the-cuff Hader impression.

Fineman got to show off more of her impersonation skills during a game in which she read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas in the voices of several stars including Chalamet, Witherspoon, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Barrymore.
