Sofia Vergara Signs With UTA
The 'Modern Family' star was previously at CAA.
Sofia Vergara has exited CAA for UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Colombian-born beauty has received multiple accolades for her role as Gloria on ABC's Modern Family, including four Emmy and four Golden Globe nominations, an Image Award and four SAG Awards for best comedic TV ensemble.
In film, Vergara recently completed production on the ensemble comedy The Brits Are Coming, starring Uma Thurman and Tim Roth. Her other big-screen credits include Hot Pursuit (which she also executive produced), Jon Favreau's Chef and Wild Card starring Jason Statham.
With her manager and business partner Luis Balaguer, Vergara founded Latin World Entertainment, a U.S.-based multiservice management agency for top Hispanic talent and entertainment marketing firm targeting the Hispanic market. As a highly-coveted pitchwoman in both the English- and Spanish-language markets, Vergara (who topped Forbes' list of highest-paid TV actresses in 2012 and 2013) is the global ambassador for such brands as CoverGirl, Head & Shoulders and Quaker. She also has several licensing partnerships, including four fragrances, a furniture collection with Rooms to Go and a deal with housewares company SharkNinja to help develop its drip coffee maker Ninja Coffee Bar.
Vergara's philanthropic work reflects her dual passions for her native country and combating children's cancer. She created the foundation Peace and Hope for the Children of Colombia and donated a pediatric cancer pavilion in her hometown of Barranquilla. She also has worked closely with St. Jude and Stand Up to Cancer.
