Solid attendance for inaugural Paris FX

PARIS -- Digital effects proved to be special in Gaul last week, with more than 700 public and professional participants turning out for the first annual Paris FX, organizers of the showcase dedicated to digital creation and special effects said Monday.

The two-day event that wrapped last Thursday saw more than 20 French effects houses present their work through a series of debates, round table discussions and case studies from recent Gallic films including "Chrysalis," "Intimate Enemies," "Arthur and the Minimoys" and "Asterix at the Olympic Games."

"The objective is to become the annual meeting for professionals and digital artists whose creative vitality is a major force," organizers said in a statement. The second edition of ParisFX is set for Nov. 26-27, 2008.
