'Sons of Anarchy's' Kenneth Choi Joins Horror-Thriller 'Stephanie' (Exclusive)
Frank Grillo is starring in the Universal and Blumhouse project.
Kenneth Choi, who most recently appeared on NBC's series Allegiance and FX's Sons of Anarchy, has joined Universal's horror-thriller Stephanie.
Academy Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, who helmed 2014's Winter's Tale, is directing the Blumhouse and Chapter One project, which will star Frank Grillo, Shree Crooks and Anna Torv. The story centers on a young girl named Stephanie (Crooks) who is abandoned by her parents, forced to survive on peanut butter and conversations with her toy turtle. When her parents return to claim their daughter, they find dark supernatural forces are wreaking havoc, with Stephanie at the center of the turmoil.
Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski wrote the script for the horror project, which will be produced by Jason Blum and Matt Kaplan alongside Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Adrienne Biddle. Nate Matteson, Eric Robinson and Bryan Bertino will executive produce.
Choi most recently starred on NBC’s series Allegiance, and previously appeared on The Newsroom, Ironside, Sons of Anarchy and Longmire. On the film side, he most recently appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Wolf of Wall Street, with his other film credits including Captain America: The First Avenger and Red Dawn. Choi is repped by TalentWorks, Atlas Artists and Myman, Greenspan.
