Sony Buys Daniel Radcliffe's 'You Shall Know Our Velocity' in Major Foreign Markets

The comedy has presold in other key international markets following its debut at the 2014 Cannes Film Market.

Daniel Radcliffe's upcoming comedy You Shall Know Our Velocity has presold around the world.

Based on Dave Eggers' best-selling novel of the same name, the film has sold to Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions in a raft of foreign markets, including Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Italy, Spain, Australia, Russia, South Korea and Latin America. Know Your Velocity has been picked up by various distributors in all remaining territories, such as the U.K. and China.

Foreign sales company International Film Trust debuted the project at the recent Cannes Film Market.

Peter Sollett will direct Know Our Velocity from an adapted script by Wells Tower for producers Tim Perell and Michael BenaroyaCAA and UTA are representing the U.S. rights to the indie project.

The storyline follows two mismatched friends who set out on a two-week trip to take their deceased friend's ashes to the pyramids in Egypt. Along the way, they give away the $32,000 insurance payoff from their friend's ill-fated accident to those in need.

“Daniel Radcliffe playing the part of Will in Dave Eggers’ much-loved story was a huge draw,” said IFT president Christian de Gallegos, who negotiated the deals with Sony Worldwide and various independent distributors.
