Sony Putting ‘The Social Network’ on iTunes for SAG Voters
It becomes the latest studio to experiment with digital screeners.
NEW YORK - Sony Pictures is the latest studio to experiment with providing access to awards contenders via iTunes, making The Social Network available to SAG members, the LA Times reported.
It is joining Fox, Paramount Pictures and Focus Features in making download codes for awards contenders available for SAG Awards voters on Jan. 30, it said.
Beginning Tuesday, the studio, which already mailed out DVD screeners, will make the film accessible via iTunes for free for 24 hours, so voters can watch them on their computers, iPhones or their TVs, the Times said.
