Sony TV Launches India's 'X Factor'

The show debuts just months after its U.S. counterpart.

NEW DELHI -- Sony Entertainment Television debuted the Indian version of X Factor Sunday. The show's judges include top Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali and playback singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal with the show hosted by singer-actor Aditya Narayan.

“Music in India has gone beyond the boundaries of film music. So for all those singers, bands and musicians who are trying to give music a new expression the show will give them a platform to showcase their talent,” said Nigam who is amongst India's most popular male singers.

“We are confident that the show will find India's most talented performers,” added Fremantle Media India MD S K Raj Barua.
