Netflix Picks Up South Korean TV Drama 'Man x Man'
This is the first time a local Korean show will become simultaneously available on the streaming giant.
South Korean TV drama Man x Man will air simultaneously on Netflix and local cable channel JTBC on April 21, Netflix announced on Friday.
While Netflix has been expanding its slate of Korean originals as well as library of titles from the Asian country, this is the first time a local show will become simultaneously available on the video streaming giant.
Man x Man will air at 11 p.m. Korea Standard Time on Fridays and Saturdays on JTBC, and will then stream an hour later on Netflix. Subtitles will be available in over 20 languages for its members in 190 countries, including the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Japan, India, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Helmed by Lee Chang-min, the director of hit TV series Giant, Bride of the Sun and Birth of a Beauty, the upcoming series features popular actor Park Hae-jin (My Love From Another Star, Cheese in the Trap) as a secret agent who becomes a body guard for an Asian superstar.
