Spain comes up Tulips in Amsterdam


AMSTERDAM -- Spanish directors dominated the awards ceremony at the 24th annual Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival over the weekend.

The Black Tulip Award went to director Nacho Vigalono for his horror flick "Timecrimes."

The Silver Melies Award, for best European fantasy film, went to Gonzalo Lopez Gallego for "King of the Hill."

The AFFF audience also was impressed by Spanish horror, with the public award, the Silver Scream Award, going to the team behind "[REC]."
