Spain's Antena 3 Internacional Launching in the U.S.

The international channel clusters programming from Atresmedia's Spanish channels

Spain’s Antena 3 Internacional will expand into the U.S. territory thanks to an agreement with Spanish-language pay-TV operator DishLatino, Atresmedia Group said Monday.

The channel, which broadcasts live from Spain to an estimated 60 million viewers in Europe and Latin America, will be included in the Plus, Dos and Max packages on channel 839.

“This deal completes many years of hard work and puts us at a higher level in the U.S. market,” said Mar Martinez Raposo, head of International Distribution for Atresmedia. “Antena 3 International has proved to be a success wherever it is present and we are sure that we will continue expanding in competitive markets.”

The group’s international channel packages the top programming from its channels in Spain, including general programming network Antena 3 and thematic channels Nova and Neox.

Antena 3, home to The Simpsons in Spain, also is behind popular domestic series like Aqui No Hay Quien Viva and miniseries A Time in Between , as well as Spanish films like Marshland, Futbolin and the upcoming Palm Trees in the Snow.

Atresmedia’s celebrity-focused brand Hola TV launched in the U.S. on DirecTV in May.
