Spain's Filmax moves on 'Flatmate'

Jaume Balaguero's film being shopped at Cannes

MADRID -- Spanish studio Filmax took the wraps off Jaume Balaguero's English-language follow-up to "Darkness" and "Fragile" on Tuesday, unveiling its new project "Flatmate."

On the heels of the international boxoffice success of "[REC]," which Balaguero co-directed with Paco Plazas, the $16.3 million "Flatmate" once again teams the Catalan horror specialist with his regular writer Alberto Manini.

The cast is not yet set for the film, which will make its market debut in Cannes. Shooting should start later this year in New York City.
