SPENA promotes Voo, Wong

Jacky Foo named director, Taiwan

HONG KONG –- SPE Networks Asia has appointed Voo Chih-yeong as vice president, affiliate sales & marketing, and Wong Yan-jong as vice president, of AXN Asia, the company announced Tuesday.

Both Voo and Wong have been promoted from executive director of SPE Networks – Asia (SPENA), a Sony Pictures Entertainment subsidiary that brings pay-TV channels AXN, AXN Beyond, Animax and Sony Entertainment Television across Asia. Apart from overseeing sales, marketing and network distribution operations, Voo will also continue to head Sony Entertainment Television, the new female-oriented entertainment channel, and will report to SPENA senior vice president and general manager Ricky Ow.

As vice president of AXN Asia, Wong will be responsible for all programming, marketing and creative services of both AXN and AXN Beyond across the region.

The company has also appointed Jacky Foo as director, Taiwan, who will relocate from SPENA’s Singapore headquarters to head its Taiwan office. Director of Korea & digital media Kim Sang-Im will handle the additional duty of promoting the four SPENA channels across the various pay-TV platforms in the region. Wong, Foo and Kim will report to Ang Hui-keng, senior vice president, channels management and finance.
