'Spider-Man' fall 3-pack on DVD, Blu-ray

"Spider-Man 3" has become the second summer theatrical blockbuster to get a home video release date in the lucrative fourth-quarter sales season. The year's No. 1 movie, with a U.S. theatrical gross of $336 million, will be released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on Oct. 30 on DVD and on Blu-ray Disc, the next-generation, high-definition format.

Also available are three-packs of all three Spider-Man movies in standard DVD and Blu-ray Disc. The latter package, "Spider-Man High-Definition Trilogy," will be the only opportunity consumers have to buy the first two "Spider-Man" movies on Blu-ray Disc.

"Spider-Man 3" grossed $888 worldwide during its theatrical run, and also boasts the biggest three-day opening in boxoffice history ($151 million).

"Spider-Man 3" will be available on DVD in both single-disc and two-disc editions. The single disc comes with bloopers, photo galleries, a Snow Patrol music video and two audio commentaries (one from the director and cast, the other from the producers, editor and special-effects supervisor).

The two-disc DVD, as well as the two-disc Blu-ray Disc, also come with an entire disc of extras including theatrical TV spots from around the world and 11 featurettes exploring everything from the creation of Venom and Sandman to filming locations in Cleveland and New York.

"Spider-Man 3" arrives in stores more than a month before Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment's Dec. 4 release of "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End," also coming to both DVD and Blu-ray Disc.
