Splendid Film has splendid Cannes

German distributor picks up several U.S. titles

COLOGNE, Germany -- German distributor Splendid Film had a splendid Cannes, picking up several U.S. titles for German release, including the Kevin Costner starrer "Swing Vote," the Nia Vardalos/John Corbett rom com "I Hate Valentine's Day" and the Adam Sandler comedy "Going Overboard."

Splendid also acquired three action thriller titles: the Steven Seagal actioner "Ruslan" and the thrillers "Unshakable" and "Run for Her Life."

Other Splendid buys include sci-fi thriller "The Gene Generation" starring Bai Ling and Faye Dunaway and Gregg Bishop's high school zombie film "Dance of the Dead."
