SPT promotes sales execs

Sony Pictures Television has pinned senior vp stripes on sales executives Philip Martzolf and Andrew Deutscher.

Martzolf has been named senior vp Northern region, and Deutscher has been upped to senior vp Southern region.

Based in New York, Martzolf will manage day-to-day operations of SPT's New York and Chicago offices, reporting to SPT exec vp syndication sales Jeffrey Wolf. Deutscher, who is relocating from New York to SPT's Atlanta office, will manage day-to-day operations of the Atlanta and Dallas offices and report to executive vp syndication sales Steve Maddox.

Wolf praised Martzolf and Deutscher.

"Andrew has grown with the company over the past nine years and has proven to be a leader in every role we have asked him to play, while Phil brings a wealth of expertise and experience to our sales team," Wolf said. "These moves give us tremendous balance in the senior management of the sales team."

Martzolf was senior vp responsible for domestic syndication sales at NBC Universal Television, Vivendi Universal Entertainment and Studios USA and also has held positions at MCA Television. He began his career in New York as an account executive at Worldvision Entertainment.

Most recently, Deutscher was vp Northeast region at SPT and before that was division manager of the Midwest region. He joined SPT in 1998 as account executive, Southeast region, in Atlanta after having been the local account executive for KASW-TV Phoenix.
