Artists First and Off-Road Productions are also behind the new venture to develop, finance and produce comedic features for worldwide distribution.

Gary Barber's Spyglass Media Group, Ben Silverman's Propagate Content, Artists First and Off-Road Productions are joining forces for a new comedy film joint venture, Artists Road.

The new venture will develop, finance and produce mid-budget feature comedies for worldwide distribution. Artists Road will be led by former Lakeshore Entertainment exec Mark Korshak as CEO, as he reports to Barber, Silverman, Artists First's Peter Principato and Todd Garner for Off-Road Productions.

Spyglass will handle global distribution of the comedy films, with Artists First bringing its talent roster and Propagate and Off-Road their production expertise to the table. “I’ve known and respected Todd, Ben, and Peter for many years and am excited to partner on this joint venture," Spyglass' Barber, a former MGM head, said in a statement.

Artists First represents comedy talent like Jordan Peele, Kenya Barris, Awkwafina and Will Arnett, and has produced features like Central Intelligence and Like a Boss and TV shows that include Black-Ish, Reno 911 and Key & Peele.

Propagate has produced comedies like Adam Ruins Everything and Jane The Virgin, while Silverman produced The Office while at NBC Entertainment. Garner, a former co-head of production at Walt Disney Studios, has movie credits that include Tag, Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Isn’t It Romantic and just wrapped shooting on Vacation Friends for 20th Century Studios.

Garner will continue to develop and produce films through his first look deal at Paramount Pictures.

The Artists Road joint venture deal was negotiated by Spyglass’ chief legal officer Cheryl Rodman, with O'Melveny & Myers LLP and Propagate Content’s COO Drew Buckley and senior vp of finance and corporate development Kelly Fancher with Eisner, LLP.
