'Taken' helmer Pierre Morel will direct for Lakeshore Entertainment.

Claes Bang, star of Ruben Ostlund's Cannes award-winning satire The Square, is set to star in the sci-fi thriller The New Mrs. Keller for Lakeshore Entertainment.

Pierre Morel will direct the pic set in the near future, where smart and sophisticated Vera Keller is more than she seems as she ensnares her husband, prominent surgeon Dr. David Keller (Bang), in a tense deception. Virtual reality intertwines with reality as David’s world unravels.

Bang is best known for his lead role as Christian in The Square, which earned the Palme d'Or at Cannes and was nominated for an Oscar in the best foreign-language film category. The actor will next be seen in the next installment of the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo franchise, The Girl in the Spider’s Web, starring alongside Claire Foy.

Morel just wrapped filming on Peppermint, which stars Jennifer Garner. Lakeshore’s Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi and Eric Reid will produce The New Mrs. Keller, with production set to start in October.

No word on casting for the title role ahead of the pic being introduced to foreign buyers at Cannes.

Bang is repped by UTA, Sharkey & Co, Felix Bloch Erben and Agentur und Management. Morel is repped by UTA and Sentient Entertainment.
