News Corp. Co. Debuts Four Indian, Three Mandarin-Language Channels

GOA, India -- News Corp.'s Star network has launched four of its Indian channels and three Mandarin channels on Canada's Bell Fibe TV.

The Indian channels include three Hindi services -- general entertainment channel Star One, Bollywood movie channel Star India Gold and news channel Star India News -- and South Indian Tamil language entertainment channel Star Vijay. These four channels add to Star's existing service in Canada, flagship Hindi entertainment channel Star Plus offered since 2006 on Bell Fibe via Canadian South Asian broadcast company Asian Television Network International.

The Mandarin channels include general entertainment channel Star Chinese Channel, movie channel Star Chinese Movies 2 and Taiwan's music and lifestyle service, Channel [V] Taiwan.

"Bell Fibe TV offers customers an enhanced television experience delivered over a state-of-the-art IPTV platform," said Bell senior VP of residential products Heather Tulk. "Adding these seven STAR channels to Fibe TV's programming line-up makes our next generation television service even more appealing to Canada's vibrant Mandarin-speaking and South Asian communities."
