'Star Jones' case dismissed

TruTV has canceled Star Jones Reynolds' legal-focused talk show after a six-month run.

The last episode of "Star Jones" will be today. "Arrest & Trial" will take over its slot at 3 p.m. weekdays.

"Due to the rebranding and programming refocus of the network, truTV and Star Jones Reynolds have mutually agreed to cease production of the 'Star Jones' show," said a memo from Marc Juris, executive vp and GM of the channel formerly known as Court TV.

The show, which began in August, showcased Jones Reynolds' work as a TV host and former lawyer. She will remain with the network as a contributor to the channel's trial coverage.

Jones Reynolds, who was an assistant district attorney and senior assistant district attorney in Brooklyn, began her broadcast career with Court TV in 1991. She also worked for NBC and "Inside Edition" and became co-host of ABC's "The View" in 1997.

She left "View" in 2006 after her contract wasn't renewed.
