Michael McKean and Landesberg, who died Friday after battling cancer, both voiced characters on an Adult Swim show.

Michael McKean remembered Barney Miller star Steve Landesberg on Twitter.

McKean (who played Lenny on Laverne & Shirley and starred in This Is Spinal Tap) wrote that Landesberg, with whom he voiced a character on Adult Swim cartoon Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law, was " a friendly and funny good guy."

Landesberg, best known for his role as Arthur Dietrich on Barney Miller, died Friday after battling cancer, his agent confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter Monday.

“It is with great sadness to report the loss of my friend and client Steve Landesberg," Jeffrey Leavitt told THR in a statement. "Working with Steve was an honor both personally and professionally. My heart goes out to his family.   He will be missed."

Landesberg most recently appeared in 2008's Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
