Starz Play Arabia Streaming Service Adds Fox Movies, Series

Hit shows like 'Empire,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'American Horror Story' and 'The Americans' will become available to subscribers along with films, such as 'A Good Day To Die Hard' and 'The Wolverine.'

Starz Play Arabia, the on-demand video streaming service of premium TV service Starz that is available in 19 countries across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has struck an agreement with 20th Century Fox Television Distribution to provide its movies and series to its subscribers.

Financial terms of the multiyear deal weren't disclosed.

Khaled Benchouche, senior vp programming & acquisition at Starz Play, said: "This deal meets the rising demand for premium OTT titles and recognizes the unique opportunities available to the MENA region.”

He added: “By providing a host of well-known titles, such as the series How I Met Your Mother, American Horror Story, The Americans, The Strain, Sons of Anarchy, 24 and Homeland and movies, including A Good Day To Die Hard, The Wolverine and Turbo, our content library becomes even richer and more relevant to the region’s young population."

Subscribers will also be able to watch the first season of Empire beginning next month.

Starz Play Arabia features English, Arabic and French audio options and user interfaces, plus one-click Arabic subtitling.
