Stephen Colbert to Host Conversation With J.J. Abrams to Benefit Montclair Film Festival
The 'Late Show' host will indulge his inner nerd when he sits down with the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' director for his fifth annual fundraiser to benefit the New Jersey film festival.
Stephen Colbert will sit down with J.J. Abrams for a nerd-tastic conversation about their influences, ideas and creative work, in his fifth annual Q&A to raise money for the Montclair Film Festival.
Colbert has long supported the festival, which has a number of entertainment-industry ties, including hosting two Q&As at last year's edition. His wife, Evelyn, is vice chairman of the festival board and has been involved with MFF since its early days.
Colbert and Abrams' conversation, dubbed a "Celebrity Nerd-Off" will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 8 p.m. at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in downtown Newark. Colbert has previously conducted late November Q&As with Jon Stewart, Jimmy Fallon, Steve Carell and Jonathan Alter.
"We remain incredibly grateful to Stephen Colbert for his unwavering support of our organization. To be able to host a visionary filmmaker like J.J. Abrams is a dream come true and we could not be more excited," Montclair Film Festival executive director Tom Hall said in a statement "This promises to be a great night."
NJPAC president and CEO John Schreiber said: "Stephen Colbert is a national treasure and the Montclair Film Festival has quickly established itself as America's most important new celebration of movies and moviemakers. We're delighted to welcome them back to the Arts Center for a unique night of fun and fundraising."
Tickets, which go on sale on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m., range from $59.50 to $250.00 and can be purchased here, through Ticketmaster or by calling 1-888-GO-NJPAC. The festival has also partnered with Omaze to raffle off a special fan experience, which will launch later this month.
The fifth annual Montclair Film Festival is set to take place from April 29-May 8, 2016.
