Sternberg nabs Whittaker
EmptyScott Sternberg Prods. has tapped Tracy Whittaker as head of creative development, overseeing original unscripted and reality TV formats.
Scott Sternberg, founder and president of the Hollywood-based production company, will continue to oversee game and talk show formats.
Whittaker has produced more than 400 hours of original nonfiction programming. She most recently worked with Sternberg as supervising producer on the company's Fox Reality series "The Academy," which received a second-season pickup, and on its Bravo series "Hey Paula."
Whittaker began her career as a producer and local news reporter in Orlando before leaving news to work on projects for the Health Network, Fox Sports Net, Animal Planet and HGTV. She won an Emmy at FSN for outstanding sports feature and a Daytime Emmy for her work as supervising producer on the syndicated series "Starting Over."
"The company has a tremendous and robust development slate for 2008 of unscripted and celebrity formats, and Tracy will be a tremendous asset in bringing these to air," Sternberg said.
Sternberg Prods.' credits include AMC's "Sunday Morning Shootout" and GSN's "That's the Question." It also is shooting a pilot for a new game show in Europe.
