Steven Yeun Signs With UTA (Exclusive)
The ‘Walking Dead’ alum can now be seen in ‘Okja,’ which Netflix released Wednesday.
Steven Yeun has signed with UTA, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. He previously was with Paradigm.
The move comes a year after the actor’s departure from AMC’s The Walking Dead last season, when his fan-favorite character, Glenn, finally met his much-publicized fate. Now a free agent, Yeun was one of this pilot season's most in-demand actors, fielding multiple offers from various shows.
He currently can be seen in Bong Joon-ho’s Okja, which premiered at Cannes and was released Wednesday on Netflix. Later this year, Yeun leads the voice cast of Sony Animation’s Christmas story The Star, whose ensemble includes Oprah Winfrey, Keegan-Michael Key and Kelly Clarkson. He is now shooting Boots Riley’s fantasy comedy Sorry to Bother You alongside Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson and Terry Crews.
In addition to his Walking Dead breakthrough, Yeun’s other credits include the 2014 sci-fi drama I Origins opposite Brit Marling and Michael Pitt, Netflix’s animated Trollhunters series and several field segments of Conan in Koreatown and Korea (both sides).
Yeun continues to be repped by Principal Entertainment LA, The Gotham Group and attorney Adam Kaller of Hansen Jacobson.
