Stevie Nicks to Receive BMI Icon Award

The honor will be bestowed May 13 at the 62nd Annual Pop Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.

There should be a veritable "Landslide" of emotion when Stevie Nicks is honored by BMI with its prestigious Icon Award at the 62nd Annual Pop Awards ceremony, Tuesday, May 13, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The invitation-only ceremony will also recognize the songwriters and publishers of the past year's most performed pop songs in the country. The BMI Pop Song, Songwriter and Publisher of the Year will be named during the ceremony as well as an all-star musical tribute to Nicks.

Nicks will join the ranks of previous winners Paul Simon, Carole King, David Foster, John Fogerty, Kris Kristofferson, The Jacksons, Crosby, Stills & Nash, The Bee Gees, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Brian Wilson, Carlos Santana and Dolly Parton, among others.

Nicks has received 12 BMI million-performance citations, along with 12 BMI Pop Awards, a BMI Urban Award and a BMI Country Award for such hits as "Dreams," "Rhiannon," "Leather and Lace," "Landslide" and "Gypsy," among others. She launched as a solo artist with the release of her five million-selling debut, Bella Donna, and recently put out the critically acclaimed In Your Dreams. As a member of Fleetwood Mac, whose Rumours album was one of the biggest selling records of all time, Nicks' four-decade career includes induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, multiple Grammy awards and numerous gold and platinum records.

This year's BMI Pop Awards will be hosted by BMI president Del Bryant and Cane.
