Stockholm Film Fest to honor Dennis Hopper

21st edition runs Nov. 17 through 28

LONDON -- This year's 21st Stockholm Film Festival will be dedicated to Dennis Hopper, organizers said Tuesday.

A party will be held in honor of the actor, who died last week, during this year's Swedish festival.

Hopper was on hand in 1991 to receive the Stockholm Lifetime Achievement Award when he visited the second Stockholm Film Festival.

The actor watched his own films together with the audience, presented every screening of his retrospective and attended the legendary Hopper Night. After the screening he took everyone who was still in the theater to breakfast in true Hopper style.

Festival Director Git Scheynius said: "Dennis Hopper made an indelible impact as an actor, director and as a human being. The best way to tribute him is to throw a party in his honor."

The festival runs Nov. 17 through 28.
