An 'Untitled Sword Project' is already in the works under the new partnership.

The company behind Robot Chicken, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, has inked a two-year first-look deal with 20th Century Fox.

The partnership will focus on the development of animated and live-action family feature projects, with an Untitled Sword Project already in development.

Stoopid Buddy, which was co-founded by Seth Green, John Harvatine IV, Matthew Senreich and Eric Towner, specializes in stop-motion, puppetry, CG and 2D animation. The Burbank-based studio is currently producing series for Netflix, Crackle and Adult Swim, and is in production on pilots for Hulu, Cartoon Network and Freeform.

"Having worked with Fox for years, I've witnessed first-hand their dedication to making unique and boundary-pushing content," said Green. "We are thrilled at the opportunity to make our movies with this team."

Added Fox's Stacey Snider: "[Stoopid Buddy Stoodios'] ability to craft original, character-driven stories, coupled with their unique stylistic approach is a perfect addition to our growing animation and family film business."

Over the past few months, Fox has been doubling down on the development and production of animated features, including a Bob's Burgers movie (July 2020) and a Will Smith-starring spy animation project, Spies in Disguise (January 2019). In late October the studio also announced new co-heads of Fox Animation, Andrea Miloro and Robert Baird.

Fox is gearing up for the release of its latest animated feature, Ferdinand, which is due out Dec. 15.
