More Cannes coverage

CANNES -- Strand Releasing has acquired all U.S. rights to writer-director Jay DiPietro's "Peter and Vandy," which premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival. It is planning a fall release.

Starring Jason Ritter and Jess Weixler, the movie is a time-shifting love story. It was produced by DiPietro, Peter Sterling of Cook Street Prods., and Austin Stark, Benji Kohn and Bingo Gubelmann of Paper Street Films.

The deal was negotiated by Strand's Jon Gerrans and Endeavor Independent's Liesl Copland. DiPietro is repped by Gersh and Leverage Management.
