Why Were the 'Stranger Things' Kids Hanging Out at Louis Vuitton Headquarters?

Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Millie Bobby Brown

Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Millie Bobby Brown (in RED Valentino) arrived at the 2016 Emmy Awards red carpet at the Microsoft Theater on Sept. 18.

Fingers crossed for a 'Stranger Things' x Louis Vuitton campaign.

In today's "Wait, What?" news, America's preteen sweethearts (not an oxymoron) — better known as Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Caleb McLaughlin, the cast of Netflix's instant cult-classic Stranger Things — were spotted on Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere's personal Instagram account.

Ghesquiere captioned the shot (which appeared to be professionally taken, unless the new iPhone 7 camera really is that good) with this frustratingly brief message: "GOT STRANGERS IN THE HOUSE TODAY." The image was geotagged at "Louis Vuitton Headquarters," but other than that, no further explanation was provided.

The kids have already proved that they've got style, stepping out at the Emmys in ensembles that were, quite frankly, much cooler than those of their adult counterparts. Not to mention, Brown has been making the rounds at New York and Milan Fashion Week, and just yesterday posted a photo of her "first pair of Jimmy Choos" on Instagram. So, could this be a preview of a Louis Vuitton ad campaign to come? Or perhaps something that Ghesquiere has up his sleeve for his Paris fashion show on Oct. 6? A children's line?

The creative director has a soft spot for rather unconventional campaigns; earlier this year, he revealed the spring 2016 ads starring Lightning, a fictional video game hero from the popular Final Fantasy series.

There are so many questions still to be answered: Is there a campaign in the works, or was this a onetime hang sesh? Does Nicolas Ghesquiere play a pivotal role in season two of Stranger Things? Where were fellow LV ambassadors Selena Gomez and Jaden Smith when all of this was going down?

Stay tuned, folks.

UPDATE: Friday, Sept. 23, 12:00 p.m. PT:

Ghesquiere posted a second photo that appears to be a behind-the-scenes look at a collaboration of some sort. The kids, clad in what looks to be Louis Vuitton leather, were captured goofing around in the image captioned, "Such a fun day and exciting project coming up thanks to all of you guys."

Did you hear that? "Exciting project"? "Coming up"? The future is looking bright.
