'Earwig' is the legendary animation studio's first feature film in four years.

GKIDS announced on Thursday its domestic release plans for Studio Ghibli’s newest feature, Earwig and the Witch.

The film will open in select theaters on Feb. 3 in both subtitled and English-dubbed versions, via longtime partner Fathom Events, as well as in independent theater circuits. That will follow with a Feb. 5 release on HBO Max, the exclusive U.S. streaming home of the Studio Ghibli catalog.

The latest film from Japan’s iconic Studio Ghibli — known for titles including Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro and Princess Mononoke — Earwig and the Witch is directed by Goro Miyazaki (From Up on Poppy Hill), son of legendary studio co-founder and Academy Award winner Hayao Miyazaki.

Based on the children’s novel by Diana Wynne Jones (Howl’s Moving Castle), the film marks Studio Ghibli’s first CG animated feature and its first feature film in four years.

The recently announced English-language voice cast includes Richard E. Grant, Kacey Musgraves and Dan Stevens.
