STX Chief Operating Officer Tom McGrath Stepping Down

'UglyDolls'

His departure comes the weekend after the studio's 'UglyDolls' opened to a disappointing $8.6 million at the domestic box office.

Tom McGrath is stepping down from his position as COO of STX Entertainment, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.  

McGrath has been with the Bob Simonds-fronted studio since its inception and will remain on as a senior advisor to the company.

The news of McGrath's departure comes the weekend after STXfilms' first foray into feature animation, UglyDolls, opened to a disappointing $8.6 million at the domestic box office. On Friday, the studio will release the Diane Keaton-starrer Poms

In March, Patricia Röckenwagner departed her post as chief brand officer.
