Online native retailer Everlane is hosting its first-ever sale (until Wednesday), but you won't find any blue-light specials here. The company, which is built upon the idea of transparency between the customer and the business, is allowing customers to choose from one of three below-retail prices for select items. The lowest price covers just the cost of production, the middle cost covers overhead for the Everlane team and the highest price covers those costs and also contributes to the brand's investment in its own growth. According to a new report by MasterCard SpendingPulse, retail sales between Black Friday and Christmas Eve grew 7.9 percent, besting predictions set by the National Retail Federation, which estimated only a 4 percent growth. Women's apparel and higher-priced goods like furniture did very well this season, with each category seeing double-digit growth. [WWD]
