Marc Jacobs to Close Stores in Europe [Business of Fashion]
Marc Jacobs will close its last remaining London store, followed by the closure of more European outposts (though exact details are not known at this time). The Marc Jacobs brand has been struggling over the past few years, shuttering its Marc by Marc Jacobs line and scaling back overall on its physical retail presence. According to BoF, the closures are part of the brand's greater restructuring process.
H&M Launches New Brand Targeted at Millennials [The Cut]
With it's newest sister brand, Nyden, H&M is following the most popular fashion trend in the industry: targeting millennials. The Swedish retailer announced that Nyden is a seasonless, "affordable luxury" brand that will launch in the coming weeks. The brand is helmed by Oscar Olsson, who has been with H&M since 2013, and his team of "co-creators," which includes the likes of tattoo artist Dr. Woo and Swedish actress Noomi Rapace.
Winona Ryder, Aja Naomi King Among L'Oreal's Newest Hair Ambassadors [Fashionista]
Winona Ryder, Aja Naomi King and Camila Cabelo are joining the L'Oreal family as the ambassadors for Elvive, the brand's hair-care line, which is currently only available in Europe. The label pledges to "revive damaged hair." Said Tim Coolican, president of L'Oreal Paris USA in a press release, "With this launch, we hope to empower people to fight hair damage so they can have beautiful, revived hair every day."
