Pat McGrath Partners With Spotify to Sell Makeup [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Pat McGrath has partnered with emerging Los Angeles-based singer Maggie Lindemann, Spotify and Merchbar on the "So Obsessed" campaign, which allows fans to purchase the latest product from Pat McGrath Labs. The LiquiLUST 007, as well as a selection from McGrath's Unlimited Edition, can be purchased through Lindemann's Spotify page. The partnership marks the first time beauty products have been sold on the music platform. As part of the launch, Lindemann debuted her new single, "Obsessed," in the campaign video, ahead of its release Friday on Spotify. Said McGrath of the collaboration: "In this digitally empowered, digital era of makeup, where fans crave instant glamour gratification, I always want to reach fans where they're most engaged. That's why this relationship with Spotify is absolutely major, because it merges beauty and music in a whole new way that’s never been done before."
Andre 3000's Tretorn Footwear Collection Is Here [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
Swedish brand Tretorn and musician Andre 3000 have teamed up on a sneaker collection called "I Andre Benjamin will not draw in class." The range, which dropped at ComplexCon, is inspired by the rapper's personal connection to the shoe as he was growing up in Atlanta. "Growing up, we'd all put our personal stamp onto the blank canvas of the Nylite and I'd sketch out my own designs," he said. "This collaboration felt like fun because it brought me back to that place of personalizing these original designs." Priced from $85 to $250, the capsule collection features 10 unique designs, including original sketches by Andre. Fans can purchase the kicks at tretorn.com starting Monday and then at Kith, Maketto, Rime, Shoe Gallery, and Wish in early December. The full collection drops in February.
