Style Notes: Sky Ferreira Poses for Jimmy Choo; Zara Faces Discrimination Lawsuit
Four fashion stories to discuss at dinner.
Jimmy Choo has chosen actress/model/singer Sky Ferreira to star in the campaign for its latest fragrance, Illicit, which will debut this fall. Ferreira revealed a teaser shot of the ads, which were shot by Steven Klein, on Instagram Wednesday with the caption "SNEAK PEEK SHOE JUICE." True to the fragrance's name, the preview shows Ferreira wearing high-waisted briefs and not a whole lot else. [Instagram]
Everyone's favorite knock-off retailer, Zara, is in hot water this week after being sued for workplace discrimination. The $40 million dollar suit filed by former employee Ian Jack Miller alleges that the ex-lawyer was unlawfully terminated because his "Jewish, American and gay" identity didn't fit with "Zara's straight, Spanish and Christian" preferred employee profile. Former Gucci creative director Frida Giannini and CEO Patrizio di Marco announced last week that they were going to tie the knot. And now we have the answer to the most important question about the wedding: What will Giannini wear? If you guessed Gucci, you'd be wrong. According to WWD, she'll walk down the aisle in a custom couture creation by Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli. If their names look familiar, it's because they also dressed Benedict Cumberbatch's bride, Sophie Hunter, on her big day. [WWD]
Victoria Beckham hinted that a fast-fashion clothing collaboration or "affordable" line may be afoot in the near future. In a candid conversation with Fern Mallis at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, the designer noted, "I'd like to collaborate with someone. I'd like to reach more people. I'd like to offer clothes to people who can't or won't pay designer prices." We'd like that too, Victoria. [Elle]
