Taylor Swift Turned Her Fashion Mistake Into Merch [Elle]
No one in the game is better than Taylor Swift at spinning negative attention into something positive (see: reclaiming the snake in her "Look What You Made Me Do" video after the emoji was used against her by Kardashian fans). After observers called out the singer for wearing a top backward to a basketball game back in 2014, with the cutout worn in the front rather than the back, Swift has decided to reclaim the moment by making merch inspired by the mistake. The singer is launching a replica of the maroon tee — again, with the cutout in the front — as part of her Reputation merchandise collection.

Neiman Marcus Consulted Millennial Employees for Its Beauty Business [Glossy]
Gucci isn't the only company asking its millennial employees for advice. For part of Neiman Marcus' new shop-in-shop, called "Trending Beauty," the department store consulted its young employees on the best indie beauty brands to include in the installation. A group of 20 assistant buyers, merchandise planners and coordinators were asked to source beauty brands from outside of Neiman Marcus' typical scope, resulting in over 650 products from 45 new brands, including Ouai and HUM. The move is an attempt to attract younger customers to the department store, whose average shopper is currently about 51.

Sears and Kmart Close More Stores [Business Insider]
Sears and Kmart — two retailers who have been hit the hardest in the "retail apocalypse" caused by e-tailer competitors like Amazon and — are closing more stores. Sears Holdings announced Thursday that 45 Kmart stores and 18 Sears stores are set to close by January 2018, with liquidation sales beginning on Nov. 9. Sears also announced its Black Friday plan to put the entire store on sale through November.

Reformation Cast Businesswomen in Holiday Campaign [Fashionista]
L.A.-based sustainable clothing brand Reformation made the decision to cast female business leaders instead of models in its holiday campaign. The brand chose four women at the top of their fields — including an entertainment attorney and a venture-capital-firm founder — to star in the ads. "Reformation is a female-founded company on a mission of making choices everyday that are smarter for the environment," wrote the brand on Instagram. "So for our new Holiday Collection, we decided to highlight some of the leading ladies who wear Ref, and make a big impact in the world in their own way. In industries notorious for under-representing the ladies, these women are amazingly successful, certified badasses."
