Style Notes: Victoria Beckham Covers Vogue Spain; Burberry, Michael Kors Drop Mario Testino
In case you missed it.
Victoria Beckham Covers Vogue Spain [Vogue Spain]
Victoria Beckham stripped down to her flesh-colored undergarments for the February cover of Vogue Spain, photographed by Boo George. The 43-year-old designer opened up about dealing with early critics who saw her as nothing more than a Spice Girl or the wife of a soccer player, as well as her time living in Madrid while hubby David played for Real Madrid. Beckham was also in the news Tuesday after her latest eyewear campaign ignited a social media debate over the thinness of 29-year-old model Giedre Dukauskaite. Critics called the ad irresponsible, while others called such remarks that scrutinized Dukauskaite's body hypocritical.
“He crecido en público desde los 19 años, mis días de preocuparme por lo que la gente piense, han quedado atrás”. @victoriabeckham vuelve a España en #VogueFebrero como nunca antes se la había visto. *La diseñadora lleva body de nylon, de @numeroventuno; y camisa, de @victoriabeckham. Burberry, Michael Kors Among Designers Dropping Mario Testino Amidst Allegations [Harper's Bazaar]
Burberry, Michael Kors and Stuart Weitzman are among the brands who have stated that they will no longer work with Mario Testino following a New York Times investigation, published Saturday, that detailed 13 allegations of sexual misconduct against the photographer by male models and former employees. Testino has denied all allegations. Conde Nast has also stated that none of its publications will work with Testino and Bruce Weber, another famed fashion photographer accused of misconduct, going forward. (Testino most recently photographed the February cover of Vogue starring Serena Williams.)
Dakota Johnson Covers Allure's Naked Issue [Allure]
Dakota Johnson was photographed by Petra Collins for the cover of Allure's Naked issue. The Fifty Shades Freed star opened up about her revealing role in the sexy franchise, as well as her close working relationship with Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino, who cast Johnson in 2015's A Bigger Splash. The 28-year-old, naturally, wore plenty of Gucci pieces for the shoot.
Yoox Net-a-Porter Group Sales Grew 11.8 Percent in 2017 [Fashionista]
The past year was certainly a good one for Yoox Net-a-Porter Group, which saw preliminary sales increase 11.8 percent while organic growth was 16.9 percent. The company, which formed when Yoox and Net-a-Porter merged in 2015, hopes to outpace the growth of the increasingly competitive digital luxury market by 2020, and so far it's right on track.
