Style Notes: 'Will & Grace' Cast Design Bow Ties; Gabriela Hearst's $600K Donation to Save the Children
In case you missed it.
Will & Grace Cast Design Limited-Edition Bow Ties for Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Tie the Knot [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
In celebration of the five-year anniversary of Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Tie the Knot, a nonprofit organization that advocates for LGBTQ equality, the stars of NBC's Will & Grace — Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally — have each designed limited-edition bow ties, available for $25 each at The Tie Bar. Twenty dollars of every $25 purchase is donated directly back to Tie the Knot, which has donated $50,000 to the Human Rights Campaign in honor of its anniversary. Why not pair the bow ties with the "Make America Gay Again" hat from the Will & Grace premiere episode, right?
Gabriela Hearst Raises $600K for Save the Children [Pret-a-Reporter Inbox]
After pledging to donate $600,000 for Save the Children's famine relief efforts in Turkana, Kenya, designer Gabriela Hearst has reached her goal of raising the funds through her partnership with Net-a-Porter and Bergdorf Goodman, which sold her highly coveted handbag collection for the first time online. (The bags have only been available via email request on her website.) Hearst's donation will provide cash grants of around $55 per month to more than 1,000 families in the Turkana region, giving them the ability to buy food, livestock and clean water to survive the drought. "With just one week to raise awareness, I am proud to say that we did it in just two days!" Hearst said in a statement. "The response has been overwhelming. The work of my team, the media and, most importantly, the excited sales forces of both our retail partners turned our ambition into a reality. I am thrilled to have contributed our part but there is much more to be done; this is just the beginning."
