In addition to Blanks, BoF has also made several new hires.'s Tim Blanks is heading to The Business of Fashion, reports The New York Times.

Blanks, who has served as editor-at-large at since 2006, is leaving at a time when the website will be transitioning to an e-commerce platform this fall. "With coming to the end, it did feel very much like a chapter ending. It seemed like an appropriate moment to open another chapter," said Blanks, who hosted the Canadian TV show Fashion Files from 1989 to 2006.

In his new role at Business of Fashion (also recognized as BoF), the longtime fashion critic and front-row regular will continue what he did at, reviewing men's and women's wear, appearing in videos and contributing to BoF between show seasons.

Said Imran Amed, the founder and chief executive of BoF, of Blanks' hiring: "What I really appreciate about Tim is how he places fashion in this cultural context. He somehow connects it to music and art and film and the wider cultural landscape. He’s not shy to say what he really thinks."

Amed founded BoF in 2007 as an industry-focused blog before growing it into a highly recognized resource. In addition to Blanks, the site has also hired Lauren Sherman as its first New York editor, Queennie Yang as its first full-time China-based editor, and Andrew Barker as executive editor in London.
