'Summer' helmer inks TV deal

Marc Webb signs with Twentieth TV to direct pilot

Hot off his feature directorial debut with the indie romantic comedy "(500) Days of Summer," Marc Webb has lined up his first TV gig.

Webb has signed an exclusive deal with Twentieth TV to direct a pilot for the studio this coming season.

Helming a pilot is considered the top directing job on television as it sets the tone and style for potential series.

Webb has been getting strong notices for "Summer," an offbeat Fox Searchlight-produced film starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel that has grossed $19 million domestically to date.

Webb is a veteran music video director who has worked with Green Day, 3 Doors Down, Fergie, Lenny Kravitz, Sean Combs, Miley Cyrus and the Pussycat Dolls. He recently earned an MTV Video Music Award nomination in the best rock video category for Green Day's "21 Guns."

He is repped by Gersh, Anonymous and Jamie Feldman.
