Summit Entertainment re-ups three

Kembel, Tellis and Jones in international division

Summit Entertainment announced a trio of promotions on Thursday: Brad Kembel was elevated to evp, international distribution; Deborah Tellis was upped to svp, international distribution; and Jill Jones was made svp, international marketing and publicity.

Kembel will continue to oversee international distribution of all Summit productions and third party titles in all media, as well as supervising sales administration and distribution finance activities for the company. He has held several executive positions at Summit over the past 17 years, most recently as svp, international distribution.

Tellis will continue to handle the execution of film and video releases. Her new role will increase her presence within 83 international territories working closely with local distributors on distribution strategy, dating, and the execution of marketing campaigns. Tellis has served as vp of the international distribution department since July, 2005 and as director since October, 2004. Before that, she worked at Sony Pictures Releasing International in Marketing.

Jones will continue to supervise the creation of international marketing campaigns and publicity activities as well as overseeing all international markets, festivals and press junkets. She joined Summit in 2008 as vp, international marketing and publicity. Jones came to Summit from DDA PR, after holding the title of svp, worldwide marketing and communications at Alliance Atlantis Entertainment.

In 2008, the company's films collected $568 million in international box office on the strength of such films as "Twilight," "Red Cliff" and "P.S. I Love You."
