Sundance Channel, IFC releasing 'Carlos'

Film screens Out of Competition next week in Cannes

CANNES -- Sundance Channel and IFC Films are joining forces to release Olivier Assayas' "Carlos," a 5 1/2-hour portrait of terrorist Carlos the Jackal, in the U.S.

Produced by Studio Canal in association with Sundance Channel, the film is Sundance Channel's first original scripted project and will premiere on the network as a three-part mini-series in October. Following that, IFC will distribute both the extended, three-part version of the film as well as an edited theatrical version in theaters and on VOD.

"Carlos" screens Out of Competition on Wednesday.
