Sundance Channel moves into 'City'

CALGARY, Alberta -- Los Angeles-based Program Partners said Thursday that the Sundance Channel has acquired the edgy Canadian miniseries "Terminal City" for an early 2008 premiere.

The drama, starring Maria Del Mar and Gil Bellows, centers on a mother of three who, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, hosts an ailing reality show and turns it into a hit just as her body and life begin to change.

Crescent Entertainment and Big Dog Prods. co-produce "Terminal City," which bowed on the Canadian premium pay TV networks Movie Central and the Movie Network.

" 'Terminal City' is a remarkable and innovative series that Sundance Channel is proud to present," said Laura Michalchyshyn, executive vp and general manager of programming and creative affairs at the Sundance Channel.
