'Super Troopers 2' Red Band Trailer Brings the Team to Canada

'Super Troopers 2'

The sequel to 2001's cult hit is set for an April 20 release.

Broken Lizard is back.

The long-awaited sequel to 2001's cult comedy classic Super Troopers is reporting for duty on April 20, and the new red band trailer promises just as much raucous action as the first film.

"They've been waiting for another chance," a voiceover introduces as the trailer begins. "They've been waiting for their country to need them again. That time is 'meow.' "

The plot for the upcoming film centers around a French-Canadian on the Vermont border that technically falls under United States jurisdiction, putting the troopers in direct conflict with the resident Mounties of the Great White North. Joining the Broken Lizard gang for the latest adventure are Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, Rob Lowe (sporting a Canadian accent) and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Naturally, tensions between the Vermont troopers and their Canadian counterparts run high. "It's not my idea of a good time either fellas; personally I'd rather fuck a moose," says one Mountie of the prospect.

Returning for the second film are all the original castmembers and Broken Lizard troupe members: Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. Chandrasekhar once again sits in the director's chair for the upcoming film.

The film's setting gives ample opportunity for its stars to show off their French accents, as Chandrasekhar and Lemme engage in a back-and-forth of common French phrases while performing a routine traffic stop.
