Former 'Survivor' Producer: Thanksgiving in Jail

Bruce Beresford-Redman will remain in custody until a Nov. 29 hearing to determine if he can post bail.

The former Survivor producer accused of killing his wife found out that he'll spend the Thanksgiving holiday in jail following his first Los Angeles court appearance on Wednesday.

During the brief hearing, U.S. Magistrate Judge Suzanne Segal scheduled a Nov. 29 hearing to determine whether Beresford-Redman will be allowed to post bail pending an extradition hearing, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

He is charged in Mexico with the killing of his wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, whose body was found April 8 in a sewage tank at the Moon Palace Hotel in Cancun.

Beresford-Redman was arrested on Tuesday at his Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., home by federal agents and is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. His arrest warrant was issued in conjunction with an extradition request from Mexico authorities.

Court papers featured a gruesome account of the alleged April 5 killing, claiming that Beresford-Redman killed his wife by asphyxiating her.

Guests in the hotel reported that they heard loud arguing coming from the couple's room the night of April 5, including "screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging" that sounded like "a woman in distress," according to the court papers.

Forensic experts found blood stains on the pillar and bedsheets of the couple's hotel room.
