Swiss Beatz Named 'Producer-in-Residence' for NYU Music Business Program
Producer and rapper Swizz Beatz, who married Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys in August, has been named the first producer-in-residence at New York University's Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at the Tisch School of the Arts. According to the Associated Press, the position, in which Beatz will offer students one-on-one sessions, group lectures, songwriting critiques and mentoring, starts immediately. Among his credits are hits by Beyonce, Jay-Z, Chris Brown and Ludacris.
"With the focus of our program being experiential education, being able to share the classroom with a true entrepreneur like Swizz Beatz is an amazing opportunity for the students and an honor for us," program chair Jeff Rabhan tells THR.
The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music offers professional business and artistic training toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
