SXSW Accident: Third Person Dead, Six Still in Hospital

Two were pronounced dead at the scene of the car crash on Thursday night.

A third person who was injured in the SXSW car accident on Thursday night has died, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Sandy Thuy Le, an Asian female, died at UMC Brackenridge Hospital, according to the Austin Police Department. A suspected drunk driver had struck Jamie Ranae West, a woman from the Austin area on a moped, and Steven Craenmehr, an Amsterdam-based MassiveMusic employee on a bicycle -- both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, 23 were hospitalized.

The driver, Rashad Charjuan Owens, is a 22-year-old black male and has been charged with capital murder. He is currently in custody at the Travis County Jail held on a bond of $3 million. Other charges will be presented at the Travis County Grand Jury at a later date.
